Harrisburg, N.C.–new urban Town Center–here is a critique; the center has lots of undeveloped land, and two commercial areas are relatively far apart.  Here is one entrance.  (Streetview hasn’t gone into the development).  Some townhomes with garages facing front.  Here is the gaudy daycare center the developer talks about in the article.  On the southwest corner (between the two busy roads) is a strip-mall area that was already there.  Here is a picture of the town hall that is the centerpiece of the area.

Just up the road is Rocky River Crossing.  Here’s the entrance.  Note these trees in bloom in March.  Here’s a dirt/mulch trail.  The main road through the development has no houses facing it.  Homes on the western end are bigger, and lot sizes are around .30 acre! (and still only going for low – mid $200’s.)
